Notes From the Road
1-27-09 Happy Chinese New Year - See Ya At The OBL
Even Though...the economy is trashed, we're at war in two foreign countries and the next four years for President Obama will largely be spent cleaning up after the past eight years of President Bush...even though these disasters and many others claim the headlines daily there is cause to celebrate in my own little corner of the universe here in Taos. I get to play with Patrick Turnmire every week at The Old Blinking Light (Mondays) and the St Bernard (Wednesdays) and I also get to play with Jim Bradley in The Lugnuts at The Taos Inn (first Sunday of each month) and I get to sit in with Jimmy Stadler and Don Richmond and his Rifters and I get to sing and play on their records...and with a whole lot of help from my friends I now get to Ski Taos, which is a mighty fine experience.
My7 brother Dale sent me this link to the Boston Globe. there are an amazing series of large photographs from President Obama's Inauguration. Worth having a look. Inauguration
So on this Chinese New Year I have a lot to celebrate as the world seemingly crumbles around me. I hope you do, too. Power to you during these challenging times and peace on you always. DonCon
