Notes From the Road
4-16-10 Second and Final Phase Complete
Lucky Me! My friend Barb Cristea connected me with her friend Dr Michael Marcus who is a brilliant dentist in downtown Chicago and he wrapped up the last of my dental reconstruction this past week. The first three weeks of surgery were in Juarez over seen by Dr Oscar Ruiz Mares. See the news posting previous to this one for details and anecdotes... and there is a Juarez photo gallery here on the site as well. I'm a free man.... except for the balance due on my titanium leg reconstruction... but what's ten more years of medical bills when you have two good legs to flop around on and a great set of teeth? It was such a joy to be back in Chicago. I stayed most of the days there with my buddy Joe Roth and loved it. I did a DonCon solo show and some sideman stuff with my brother Ellis Paul followed by local shows in Taos with the fabulous Patrick Turnmire (The Original Patrick) and Patrick Neher (The Other Patrick). We'll be at El Monte Sagrado, The Earth Day Festival in Kit Carson Park and also a fund raiser for Art Of The Song. Then I'll be back on the road a bit in May and June... showing off my new chompers. Thanks again to my amazing friends who pulled me through that ordeal. I love you Arlo and the whole Guthrie Family. Thank you for your support and kindness. Peace on you all. DonCon
