Notes From the Road
8-12-12 Long Live Summer

Had an amazing time in Texas and Oklahoma in July. Special thanks to all my friends and music pals associated with The Woody Guthrie Festival. After 15 years it still has the magical mojo that sets it apart as one of the premier music festivals running today and it's a great joy and honor to be part of it. The last weekend of July and the first weekend of August I got to play Linus in The Dixon Players production of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown (Revised). Smart writing, great songs, an incredible cast. I was the newbie on the boards and did my best to keep up with the rest of the cast... and loved it. If you ever wanted to see me try my hand at song and dance (with a blanket) then that was your big chance. In August I started playing bass with a cool new ensemble of Taos hotshots. We've been calling it Station A. Have no idea what that name means, but I never was adverse to a bit of mystery. I get to return to The Rocky Mountain Folks Fest to teach at their amazing Song School and then finish up the week by performing in the Wildflower Pavilion. In September Michael Hearne fires up his Big Barn Dance in Taos and I'll be on board for that as well. A great mix of Taos days and nights, songwriting and dancing. Taos at its finest. Thank you all for your friendship and support. Hope all is well in your worlds and we connect soon. DonCon
