I understand you are in the thick of it with your hearings for Mr. Alito, but I wanted to write this to you regarding impeachment. Thanks for your patience.I am in full agreement with the growing movement of people who are now speaking out about the concerning patterns of behavior and abuses of power exhibited by the Bush Administration. As a citizen I believe that I have been lied to repeatedly and that these matters have created a serious condition within my country which needs to be addressed immediately. I am appalled by the growing scandals involving this White House and the current revelations that President Bush, like President Nixon thirty years ago, has carried out illegal surveillance activities against American citizens.These are serious offenses which constitute High Crimes and Misdemeanors. I also have a very strong belief that there were improprieties involving the presidential elections in both 2000 and 2004 and dangerously flawed appointments of unqualified people to important governmental posts on a wide scale. This President, Vice-President, some of their top aides and many of their cabinet members have betrayed the trust of the American people, put our nation and its armed forces in harm's way, corrupted our democracy and broken the law. I urge you to support impeachment immediately. I strongly believe it is the right thing to do as an elected leader and as a fellow citizen. I thank you for your courage and service to our nation.
